Solar technology holds immense potential in addressing the global energy requirements. Nevertheless, solar technology's present contribution to the world's energy supply remains limited. The key problem is the high initial cost of constructing the system. In this chapter, a comprehensive assessment of solar concentrators and their benefits will be presented, focusing on their role in enhancing the affordability of solar technology. The design and performance of various concentrators will be discussed and compared. Energy alternatives that address environmental concerns are becoming more popular when compared to traditional energy resources. We need to capture the abundant solar energy that is also environmentally friendly. Solar concentrators play a vital role in optimizing the efficiency and affordability of solar energy utilization. Solar concentrators are experiencing growing adoption across various solar energy domains, including concentrated solar photovoltaics, solar steam power generation, solar energy storage, solar cooking, and more. In this chapter, we will explore the diverse range of solar concentrator types, their current applications, and the advantages they offer.
