The Non-final Curtain: Conclusions Derived from Human Entanglement Theory
摘要
This part of the book comprises a series of independent entries. Here is an excerpt: “Unfathomable dangers are looming ahead of us. They are all brought upon us by ourselves: the shift in climate, the pollution of the earth, inhumane levels of inequality and poverty, vicious cycles of exploitation, oppression, discrimination, hate, violence and wars, and ever new technologies that threaten our very own existence and well-being. We need to learn what made us do them, and not prevent them, and not undo them. We need to find cures to our own doings, the ways of doing things and not doing things. We need to free ourselves from blindness and then from the binds of our entanglements, and from the binds that form our entanglements. New, benevolent entanglements are to take their place. Thus, decoherence (de-entanglement) from a bad entanglement is a good thing, and must be ‘encouraged’ (i.e. established and/or amplified). At the same time, coherence to good entanglements must also be established and/or amplified (cf Crull, 2021). ... Solutions are there, every step of the way, either already in practice in rare form or outright perceivable (cf Aristotle, cited in Bauböck, 2008). Practice-based, comparison-based normative science (e.g. Aspalter, 2023a), strong logic and a strong tradition of critical thinking will show the way. Minding our steps, minding our ways will help to identify and make new choices, less distorted and more benevolent choices. Science and wisdom create understanding. It is never too late, but looking out there, one can see it is getting cold out there, really cold. The cold winds have arrived already and they carry warnings of the future.”
