An Experimental Study on LWT Hash Algorithm to Secure IoT Communications
摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) is expanding at a fast pace; the deployment of interconnected devices has become increasingly prevalent in various domains, ranging from smart homes and healthcare to industrial automation and transportation. However, this interconnectedness also introduces new security challenges, making IoT devices vulnerable to attacks. One prominent type of attack that poses a significant threat to IoT security is side-channel attacks. To infer sensitive data, side-channel attacks exploit unintended leakage of information from a physical system, such as power consumption, electromagnetic radiation, or timing information. IoT devices, often resource-constrained and deployed in untrusted environments, are particularly susceptible to side-channel attacks due to their limited computing capabilities and potential exposure to adversaries. By analyzing these side-channel leaks, an attacker can potentially extract/obtain sensitive information or compromise the security of the device. In this study, a survey of the various side-channel attacks and countermeasures is conducted.
