Translation Style of Liang’s “Unfettered Translation”

Liang’s “unfettered translation” had a great influence in the late Qing Dynasty and received strong feedback from the readers. This was certainly due to its content of enlightenment, but the success of “unfettered translation” was also closely related to Liang’s translation style. This chapter aims to reveal the true nature of Liang’s translation style and its inherent connection with his creative style, namely the “new style,” by thoroughly and meticulously examining the development and characteristics of his translation style.
