Citizenship Education in Higher Education
摘要
While much of the extant research into civics and citizenship education has focused on what occurs in schools, there is a growing interest in the ways that other educational institutions, and especially universities and tertiary education settings, can encourage the development of civic knowledge, skills and attitudes. In many ways, this is linked to the preceding chapter: as there is an increasing focus on the global aspect of citizenship, universities, in their efforts to remain relevant, have sought to include the development of global citizenship—or similar—in their student graduate attributes or course outcomes—and that has an effect upon what is taught—and how it is taught—in different courses and programs across the institutions.
