Morphological Characteristics of Urban Space Development
摘要
Chapter 6 discusses a topic frequently mentioned in urban studies, namely the spatial morphology of urban development. We consider urban spatial morphology as the manifest feature of the deep structure and development laws of urban space. This manifest feature exhibits different manifestations at various spatial levels. Changes in interaction among cities within a region lead to the evolution of regional morphology, while the growth and decline of urban scale result in changes in the external morphology of the cities. Additionally, the transformation of the internal functional structure of the cities contributes to the succession of internal spatial morphology.
