Spatial Planning and Urban Space Research

摘要

This chapter addresses the insufficient recognition of the inherent laws governing urban space development, so that it is often overshadowed by the perception that spatial planning is merely a spatial projection of social development or economic construction planning. This chapter delves into the relationship between the laws of urban space development and spatial planning, as well as the interplay between spatial planning, social development, and economic construction planning. Additionally, it examines contemporary trends in urban space research and the ongoing reform of in spatial planning system of PRC. The chapter emphasizes the importance of understanding the intrinsic laws governing urban space development and introduces the novel concept of “interaction theory.” It explicitly highlights the equal significance of spatial deployment planning, social development planning, and economic construction planning, underscoring their interconnectedness in formulating vital development strategies at national, regional, and municipal levels.
