Is Digitization the Antidote to Sustainable Financial Development?

The development of inclusive finance and the enhancement of digital capabilities have gradually become hot topics in the field of financial sustainability, attracting widespread attention from academia and industry. However, there are significant differences in the direction and intensity of the relationship between the two in existing research, and it is not yet clear. In response to the above issues, this study conducted a meta-analysis of 10123 empirical literature from 2005 to 2023, aiming to explore the role of inclusive finance in sustainable financial development, and further discuss the regulatory effects of traditional technology and digital technology on financial stability, financial efficiency, and inclusive growth. The research concludes that: (1) the development of inclusive finance can effectively enhance financial stability; Improve financial efficiency; Promote inclusive growth. (2) Meanwhile, digital technology can further enhance the promoting effect of inclusive finance on financial stability and efficiency. (3) However, compared to traditional inclusive finance, digital inclusive finance has not effectively improved financial inclusive growth. The research findings provide guidance for the application of digital technology in this field and provide a theoretical basis for sustainable financial development.
