Evolutionary Analysis of Synergistic Development of Green and Low-Carbon Industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Region

摘要

This study examines the evolution and factors influencing the joint development of green, low-carbon industries and cities in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. Amid global environmental challenges, this western China economic hub’s green industry growth is crucial for sustainable regional progress. Using a coupling coordination degree model, the paper analyzes the period from 2011 to 2019, revealing improving coordination among cities, with Chengdu and Chongqing’s influence growing. The industry-urban coupling is high and trending upward, suggesting better alignment of industrial and urban planning. While industry-economy coordination is somewhat lacking, it’s improving, with Chengdu notably advancing in industrial and economic restructuring. The study also notes enhanced industry-population-resource and industry-innovation-environment coupling, highlighting the benefits of innovation and environmental efforts. It recommends future research focus on technological innovation, enterprise transformation, and fostering regional collaboration for resource sharing and leveraging strengths to advance green industry clusters and high-quality economic growth.
