A Systematic Review on Research of Individuals’ and Households’ Flood Adaptation Behavior Using Questionnaire Methods
摘要
Flood can cause extensive damage and fatalities, and it can also inadvertently lead to the spread of disease, contamination of drinking water and other problems. Individuals and households’ flood adaptation behavior can prevent or reduce the negative consequences of floods, including protection of individuals, others, and the environment. Questionnaire methods provide an important approach to reveal information about the public’s knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, experiences, and preparedness levels during floods, which can facilitate researchers to target scientific adaptive measures to reduce economic and life losses. There is a dearth of review literature that provides a review of questionnaire features, implementation strategies, and data analysis approaches. This includes the questionnaire’s accessibility, sample size, analytical model, analysis technique, and software selection. In this paper, we review 29 literatures on the study of flood adaptation behavior, and emphasize the details that researchers need to pay attention to when adopting questionnaire research, to provide scholars who use questionnaire research to study flood adaptation behavior with some guidance.
