Research on the Development Efficiency of Sports Tourism Demonstration Bases in Sichuan and Chongqing Regions Based on Network Concerns

This study focuses on the Sichuan and Chongqing Regions Sports Tourism Demonstration Bases, along with their respective host cities, during the period of 2021–2023. And the study is conducted by assessing the network attention garnered by each scenic spot and host city, utilizing data derived from user comments, like Online Travel Agency (OTA) platform. Furthermore, to study deeper into the developmental efficiency of the Sichuan and Chongqing Regions Sports Tourism Demonstration Bases, key indicators are employed. The total area of the Sichuan and Chongqing Regions Sports Tourism Demonstration Bases is chosen as the land input indicator, the quantity of star-rated hotels serves as the capital input indicator, and the combined metrics of total tourism income and network attention are utilized as output indicators. With the help of this approach, this study enables us to calculate and analyze the developmental efficiency of the Sichuan and Chongqing Regions Sports Tourism Demonstration Bases in each city by using the Data envelopment analysis (DEA) model. The aim of this research is to leverage land and capital inputs to propel the rapid expansion of the leisure sports tourism economy in the Sichuan and Chongqing regions. Additionally, this endeavor seeks to diminish regional disparities in the efficiency of integrating the Sichuan and Chongqing regions even all of China.
