The Formation and Response of Family Education Dilemma in the Context of Educational Urbanization
摘要
With the development of urbanization, educational resources have gathered in cities and towns, triggering the educational urbanization. The imbalance between urban and rural areas has caused family education dilemma: rural parents send their children to cities for high-quality education, but their children’s academic performance has not been improved. Based on the data from the China Education Panel Survey (CEPS), this study used multiple linear regression model and interviews to explore why education dilemma formed. This study concludes that parental education participation, family education expenditure and boarding choice are influential factors, and proposes countermeasures accordingly. The findings can help to explore the impact of urban-rural education quality differences on families, so as to promote the high-quality and well-balanced development of urban-rural education.
