The imperative for restoration is underscored by wetlands’ significant contribution to climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas regulation. Saline wetlands, distinctive ecosystems prevalent in arid and semi-arid regions with high salt concentrations, demand urgent restoration efforts. These ecosystems offer vital habitats for specialized flora and fauna while acting as natural barriers against saltwater intrusion. Nevertheless, restoring saline wetlands poses distinctive challenges due to elevated salinity levels, adverse soil conditions, and harsh climates.
