In Silico Methods Used in Drug Repurposing
摘要
The biomedical profession has used drug repurposing to maximize the use of previously approved medications, resulting in a more effective distribution of research funding. This strategy is particularly intriguing in many pharmaceutical targets, given the significant expense of finding novel medications with therapeutic promise. Computational approaches have been used to predict relationships between drugs and their targets. Numerous computational techniques that support the discovery process and help to find new repurposing opportunities have been proposed or modified from earlier applications. There are now many successful instances accessible. Integrating many techniques, strategies, and disciplines will significantly benefit future advances. Therefore, a fundamental to medication repurposing is a better understanding of the connections between pharmaceuticals and their targets and between targets and diseases.
