Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons and Security Challenges in Nigeria

Nigeria is littered with various ethnic and religious armed militias. The presence of armed groups across the country has influenced the proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Nigeria. The arms are further deployed by armed groups to destabilise the society and cause destruction of lives and property.
