Theranostics Application of Controlled Release Drug Delivery Systems
摘要
An employing and subsequently developing nanomedicine method for sophisticated theranostics is the goal of nanotheranostics. The numerous nanocomposites for nanotheranostics that have been established thus far are listed in this chapter, including polymer drug conjugations, liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, dendrimers, polymeric micelles, magnetic nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (single- and multi-walled), and gold nanoparticles. These nanocomposites enable prolonged and controlled release, designed to co-deliver drug agents for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes, thereby enhancing theranostic impacts while reducing complications. In order to detect and cure diseases at the molecular and cellular level, theranostic nanomedicine may attain systemic circulation, elude resistance mechanisms, and transport the therapeutic agents to the designated location. Nanoparticles combine the diagnostic and therapeutic molecules into a unified theranostic framework that may be subsequently coupled to a physiological receptor for targeting. Nanotheranostics have been shown to have a wide range of additional therapeutic benefits, in addition to facilitating synergistic and combinatorial treatment, stimulus-responsive discharge, multimodality therapies, co-delivery of siRNA molecule toward cancer cell, oral administration, distribution across the blood–brain barrier (BBB), and escaping through intrinsic autophagy mechanism. As a result of nanotheranostics, individualized treatment with a favorable outcome will be possible, making even lethal illnesses curable or at the very least manageable in their early stages.
