Specialized drug delivery systems, like aquasomes, pharmacosomes, dendrimers, bilosomes, virosomes, cubosomes, emulsomes, transferosomes, and resealed erythrocytes, are advanced methods designed to precisely transport medications within the body. Aquasomes, for instance, are nanoscale carriers that protect drugs from degradation and efficiently release them where needed. Pharmacosomes combine drugs with lipids for targeted delivery and enhanced efficacy. Dendrimers, highly branched molecules, offer a customizable platform for drug attachment and controlled release. Bilosomes, formed by liposomes and bile salts, are proficient in transporting drugs across biological barriers. Virosomes mimic viruses to deliver drugs into cells with high specificity. Cubosomes, cubic lipid structures, offer stability and sustained release of drugs. Emulsomes, lipid-based particles, ensure stable encapsulation and delivery of hydrophobic drugs. Transferosomes are elastic vesicles that can squeeze through narrow pores for enhanced drug penetration. Resealed erythrocytes, engineered red blood cells, carry drugs throughout the bloodstream for prolonged circulation. These innovative delivery systems aim to improve drug effectiveness, reduce side effects, and target specific tissues or cells, offering promising prospects for personalized medicine and enhanced therapeutic outcomes.
