An Investigation on the Factors Responsible for High Rate of Product Rejection in a Assembling Plant at Cluster Level and Critical Technique to Minimize Rejection Count

摘要

Rate of rejection (RTRJ) in a production process refers to the percentage of non-conforming products (NCP) that are identified and rejected during the manufacturing. The rate of rejection (RTRJ) depends upon the type of the industry, product type, and quality control (CCM) measures. In general, manufacturing companies strive to minimize the rate of rejection (RTRJ) to ensure high product quality. The rate of rejection (RTRJ) must be within specific acceptable rate of rejection (ARTRJ). Companies implemented different quality control measures (QQM) to monitor and reduce rejection rates (RTRJ), including statistical process control (STPRC), quality inspections (QI), automated testing (AT), and continuous improvement methodologies (CI-Tech) like Six Sigma. By identifying and addressing the root causes of defects, companies aim to improve production processes and reduce rejection rates over time. The article investigates the critical parameter responsible for high rate of rejection (RTRJ) and suggests critical techniques so as to minimize the rate of rejection (RTRJ).The suggested technique can be implemented in continuous improvement methodologies (CI-Tech) like Six Sigma so as to cut the production cost to face global competition and to meet customers’ expectations.
