摘要
In this chapter, it was described about preventive measures for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) surgical site infection (SSI). Preoparative risk factors for infection include diabetes mellitus, MRSA nasal carriage and others. During the perioperative period, preventive measures for SSI include the use of surgical helmet, povidone-iodine-containing drapes, diluted povidoneiodine for wound irrigation and others. In addition, it was described about the diagnosis, the classification, various treatments of postoperative TKA SSI. These measures should be always updated, and surgeons have to confirm tha latest information.
