Surgical Techniques to Achieve Deep Flexion
摘要
In Japan, a wide range of knee ROM is required in daily life due to the unique lifestyle practice of sitting on the floor, and there is a strong potential demand for deep flexion even after TKA. However, most conventional knee joint motion analyses have focused on flexion angles up to 130°, and little analysis has been conducted on flexion angles that are greater than that measurement. Given this limitation, interest in normal knee joints and deep flexion after TKA has increased since the 1990s and has been the subject of focus at academic conferences and symposia; moreover, several TKA designs for deep flexion have been introduced recently.
