Robotic Assisted TKA

摘要

Although TKA has been shown to achieve pain relief and excellent long-term survival, it has also been reported that 15–20% of patients still have some dissatisfaction with their knees after surgery, and various attempts are being made to further improve the surgical results. The success of TKA requires implant placement based on accurate osteotomy and proper soft tissue balance. Although the introduction of navigation systems, 3D preoperative planning using CT and MRI, and patient-matched instruments have improved the accuracy of implant placement, soft tissue balance is still dependent on the skill of the surgeon and does not always lead to a significant improvement in postoperative outcomes [1, 2]. Although mechanical alignment has been the gold standard for postoperative alignment of the lower limb, the concepts of constitutional varus and kinematic alignment have become increasingly popular in recent years, and the debate on these concepts has become more active. Robotic-assisted surgery is expected to be a tool to achieve alignment and soft tissue balance with high accuracy and reproducibility, which can make the difference between success and failure in surgery.
