Kinematically Aligned TKA
摘要
TKA is a well-established surgical technique that provides excellent pain relief and good mid- to long-term outcomes. However, patient satisfaction is not yet sufficient, and improvements in surgical equipment and techniques are expected. The key elements of the surgical technique are accurate osteotomy and component placement to reproduce lower-limb alignment and achieve an appropriate soft tissue balance. Although mechanically aligned TKA (MA-TKA), the current gold standard, has generally achieved good mid- to long-term clinical outcomes, there is still room for further discussion in the areas of alignment reproduction and appropriate soft tissue balance concerning improving patient satisfaction and reproducing postoperative knee function. This chapter reviews the concept, surgical technique, and clinical outcomes of kinematically aligned (KA)-TKA, which has attracted much attention in recent years.
