This chapter highlights the increasing applications of 3D printing technology in lower limb prosthetics, with a specific focus on sockets, knee joints and feet. Lower limb prosthetics play a crucial role in restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for individuals with limb loss. There are various challenges faced during traditional manufacturing techniques by the prosthetics and orthotics professionals. This affects in achieving optimal fit, comfort and functionality post-fitment. 3D printing offers multiple advantages over the conventional ways of prosthesis manufacturing. This includes customization, faster fabrication and material versatility. The chapter explores how 3D printing enables the fabrication process for lower limb prosthetics. It includes sockets specific to individual anatomy that enhance comfort and reduce the chances of developing mechanical stump dermatoses. It drives deep into the development of affordable 3D printed passive knee joints, capable of mimicking the movement of the natural knee, improving stability and mobility for prosthetic users. The chapter further examines advancements in 3D printed foot prosthetics, including simple customizable designs that optimise energy efficiency by incorporating natural gait events.
