Operational Architecture of National QKD Backbone
摘要
The threat of quantum computers to reveal the encrypted data in the digital environment forces us to reassess and create new telecommunication technologies to prevent this threat. The new technologies are being developed in two directions: the development of new, more secure data encryption algorithms and use of quantum mechanics principles in data exchange networks, and hardware-based, non-software deterministic encryption key generation. The paper describes the national QKD backbone segmentation, the functional capabilities of each segment, its specific tasks and technological solutions. Each segment provision of information security is based on the principles of quantum mechanics (QKD, QRNG). The QKD backbone testing segment is provided with a branch of post quantum solutions. The QKD backbone is intended for a small country, so the system architecture is compact, functionally narrowly targeted, but at the same time contains the typical QKD system blocks.
