Analysis of Ring Core Hollow Photonic Crystal Fiber Based on Chalcogenide Glass for Transmission of Orbital Angular Momentum Modes in the Near-Infrared Region

摘要

We propose a ring core hollow photonic crystal fiber (RCH-PCF) based on chalcogenide glass. The designed RCH-PCF can support 30 orbital angular momentum modes (OAM) modes from 1400 to 2200 nm. It comprises a central air hole and three layers of air holes forming the cladding. The RCH-PCF exhibits low confinement loss (less than 9 × 10–9 dB/m), and effective refractive differences are greater than 2 × 10–4 for all supported modes across the 800 nm bandwidth. The properties of the supported vector modes, like dispersion and nonlinear coefficient, are calculated and numerically analyzed. This RCH-PCF has potential applications in short-haul communication systems and supercontinuum generation.
