China’s Economic Diplomacy with Bangladesh: Opportunities and Challenges
摘要
This study investigates China's economic diplomacy with Bangladesh, which seems to be a key element of China's overall plan to advance its commercial interests and strengthen its political clout in the region. The study also emphasizes “economic diplomacy,” which is the use of economic power to accomplish strategic aims. Economic statecraft is commonly believed to be a nexus between the state and the market. This study also explores the institutional structures and multilateral procedures that China has employed to accomplish its grand strategy. Some of the most important aspects of China's economic diplomacy, which can also be described as the country's efforts to advance its political agenda through economic means are discussed. In addition, two strategies for China's economic diplomacy are examined. Firstly, the Chinese government formally holds the position that wherever possible, diplomatic tactics should be used to achieve economic goals and reap bilateral economic gains. Secondly, to what extent has China advanced strategic influence through economic methods in Bangladesh? The booming Chinese economy and its rising strategic influence are therefore the subjects of this study. This raises a very important question: under what circumstances is it conceivable for China's economic diplomacy to be transformed into strategic influence, and will this result in a new dynamic for the global economy? Secondary sources of information are used to examine the research questions.
