Common Problems in Ultramicrotome and Its Remedies

With the appropriate cutting method on an ultramicrotome, satisfactory ultrathin sections of about 60–90 nm thickness, corresponding to “silver” colour sections, can be achieved. The regular ultrathin sections are of uniform thickness, without any knife marks or compression and free from impurities.
