摘要

A novel approach to optimize lengths of strips in the parallel non coupled metallic frequency selective surfaces (FSS) using a genetic algorithm technique embedded with the WCIP method (Wave Concept Iterative Method) is proposed. The introduced approach permits the determination of the length of strips in the FSS unit cell in order to achieve desired frequency responses. The object function is the Mean Error Square (MSE) function defined as the error between the desired resonant frequencies giving by the laboratory measurements and the WCIP estimated resonant frequencies calculated for each population chromosome of each generation. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated an example of manufactured parallel metallic strips FSS structures with an MSE equal to 0.018 when the filter excited with wave plane in the x polarization and MSE equal to 0.005 for the y polarization.
