Distribution of Oil and Gas Resources in Europe

Europe includes 46 countries and regions, such as the United Kingdom (UK), France, Germany and Norway, is the sixth largest continent worldwide. Forty-four sedimentary basins have developed in Europe, cover an area of 1016 × 104 km2. Foreland basins and cratonic basins are the main types of onshore basins, and rift basins and passive margin basins are the main types of offshore basins. 5.6% of the world’s oil and gas resources are concentrated in Europe, and the recoverable oil and gas resources in Europe are 1051.9 × 108 t of oil equivalent.
