摘要

Oil and natural gas are the most important primary energy sources in the world. Many domestic and foreign institutions predict that even if China puts forward the goal of “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality”, China's oil and gas demand in 2050 will reach or exceed 3 × 108 t and 5000 × 108 m3 (RIPED 2021; BP 2021). Considering that, the rational and effective use of overseas oil and gas resources will remain one of the important strategies for ensuring China's national energy security and promoting low-carbon development in the next 30 years. It is the main content of global oil and gas resource evaluation to scientifically predict the distribution of remaining recoverable oil and gas reserves and the undiscovered resources, and to reasonably evaluate the reserves growth potential of discovered oil and gas fields in the world, which is also the basis for the international oil companies to implement the internationalization strategies.
