Data Caching in Industrial Edge Computing

Edge caching remains one of the most active research topics and working areas that benefited from the emergency of data mining for IIoT operation control. Normally, before processing an arrived offloaded task, necessary sensing data from servers caching the required sensing data is required. In this chapter, we first introduce data caching optimization in industrial edge computing systems, which plays an important role when the application draws inferences from sensing data over specific historical periods. Due to the multisources and heterogeneous features of data collected from massive sensors, this chapter then introduces two caching solutions for two typical types of data, i.e., latency-sensitive data and video streaming data.
