Mobile agent computing has emerged as a promising paradigm for distributed systems, allowing intelligent software agents to migrate and execute tasks autonomously. However, the increasing complexity of these environments necessitates robust fault tolerance mechanisms, strong security measures, reliable transaction processing, and efficient utilization of multicore architectures. This paper presents a comparative study of the latest advancements in mobile agent computing, focusing on adaptive fault tolerance, security, transaction management, and multicore support. By providing insights into the strengths, weaknesses, and open research questions of existing techniques, this paper guides researchers and practitioners in designing fault-tolerant, secure, transactional, and multicore-enabled mobile agent systems.
