Minor and major road accidents are a critical problem in urban and rural transportation. Enhancing road safety is one of the primary necessities in cities to ensure citizen’s quality of life. This research proposes an AI-enabled Voice assistant to provide warnings to drivers to improve road safety in urban areas. The system combines deep learning models, specifically the YOLO (You Only Look Once) object detection algorithm, and an AI voice assistant using natural language processing techniques. The AI voice assistant provides timely warnings and instructions to the driver based on the detected objects and the information gathered by the Vehicular Networks. The experiment shows that the deep learning model accurately predicts objects on the road from the given video input. The work also presented the various scenarios in which voice assistance helps drivers ensure better security.
