Emerging Dimensions in Food Supply Chain Management: A Thematic and Bibliometric Analysis

The global significance of the food supply chain as a research area is evident through the increasing volume of research articles. This field is rapidly expanding and diversifying, covering a wide array of research themes. To enhance the theoretical understanding, this paper presents a comprehensive literature review conducted using a structured approach, integrating systematic literature review, bibliometric analysis, and thematic analysis. Utilizing the VOS viewer for bibliometric analysis, 184 seminal articles published from 2021 to 2023 are reviewed and key emergent themes are identified which include Supply Chain Optimization, Food Security and Safety, Environment and Sustainability, Pandemic Impact, Risk Management, and Supplier Management. Additionally, this study crafts a comprehensive framework integrating stakeholders, strategies, practices, and industrial sectors to define prominent research themes within food supply chains.
