摘要

The proliferation of discarded metal products and unutilized materials presents a growing challenge in manufacturing industries. Manufacturers struggle to effectively repurpose these unused or rejected products. This study aims to uncover and analyze the barriers that hinder the adoption of reverse logistics within the metal disassembly and remanufacturing sector. Through a comprehensive literature review, these barriers are systematically identified and subsequently prioritized using the Best–Worst Method (BWM). The BWM approach discerns critical barriers to reverse logistics implementation in the metal remanufacturing domain, drawing on insights from industry experts to provide actionable recommendations. The foremost barrier that emerges from this analysis is the lack of initial capital to invest in reverse logistics. This financial obstacle is compounded by significant technological and managerial challenges, exacerbated by the lack of commitment displayed by top-level management. In conclusion, this study offers practical recommendations to mitigate these barriers, fostering the successful integration of reverse logistics practices in the metal disassembly and remanufacturing industry.
