Optimization of Healthcare System Layout to Improve Patient Experience

This paper is focused on reducing the waiting time of patient by optimizing the layout. The data is collected from two hospitals—private and public hospital. CRAFT algorithm using C + + is carried on initial layout. The principle involved in CRAFT which includes interchanging the department on the basis of common area or adjacent unit gives us the most optimal layout. To reduce the patient waiting time, we use ARENA and include all the probable cases which are possible to go from one department to another. The simulation is carried out which gives us the improvement in time with the changes made in the layout. The optimal layout is then designed using FlexSim. Using software- ARENA, C + + , SolidWorks, and FlexSim has helped us to analyze the situation and interpret the results accordingly.
