A Computer Vision Based Approach for Energy-Efficient Air Conditioner Control
摘要
Climate change is a pressing global concern, with electric appliances significantly impacting energy consumption. Air conditioners contribute substantially to both energy use and greenhouse gas emissions due to their widespread adoption. The growing prevalence of air conditioning systems worldwide necessitates energy-efficient and environmentally friendly strategies. To address this, we propose an innovative solution for intelligently controlling air conditioners in public spaces, addressing energy and climate-related issues more effectively. Our approach utilizes cutting-edge Computer Vision technology, specifically detection models with high precision. Our intelligent air conditioner control system combines the accuracy of state-of-the-art Object Detection models through cameras with the control and command system we have built to make informed decisions on optimal air conditioner usage. Additionally, the system focuses on operational optimization and eco-friendliness, generating sustainable business value and promoting environmental preservation. Our system is designed to conserve energy, protect the environment, and enhance user experience. Implementing it in test environments has led to a significant 40% reduction in air conditioner energy consumption, showcasing its potential to address climate change challenges while improving energy efficiency but still ensuring a comfortable user experience.
