摘要

Growing evidence of the intricate connections between health and the gut microbiota has prompted a novel way of interpreting health and disease. The connection between the gut microbiota and neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) was one of several captivating recent discoveries. Promising associations are emerging as researchers probe further into the complexity of the human microbiome, providing new insights into the causes and development of MS. This chapter offers a hypothesis on how the gut microbiota can be a possible trigger for the development of MS to prompt potential new therapeutic avenues for better care for MS patients.
