An Efficient Cryptographic Technique to Improve Data Privacy and Security in E-Commerce

Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce) is process of performing business over an Internet. A human sitting on his chair in front of a PC or using mobiles can access all the facilities of the Internet to buy or sell the goods and services. Unlike traditional commerce that is done physically with effort of a human to go out and get products, e-commerce has made it very easy for human to lessen physical work and to recover time. The main benefit of e-commerce over traditional commerce is the customer can browse online shops, analyze prices and over merchandise sitting at home on their PC or Mobiles. Since the pandemic has hit, it is not safe for people to go out and purchase products. So, the e-commerce plays an important role for people to order products safely from home over the Internet. The main aim of e-commerce websites development is to improve data privacy and security. In this paper, in order to have a secure payment, backend is made to communicate with the payment gateway. Here the passwords are hashed using Blowfish Block Cipher algorithm and also salted so that hackers cannot crack the passwords easily.
