摘要

The study offers a design for a 2-bit flash ADC that uses Threshold Inverter Quantization (TIQ) comparators for high-speed and system-on-chip applications. Quantization using a threshold inverter offers great speed, low power, and small area. In this method comparator consists of two cascaded CMOS inverters. TIQ comparators compare the input signal with internal built threshold voltage, it removes the necessity for a power-hungry resistor ladder network. TIQ output is thus encoded into a binary value using an encoder. In order to increase the conversion speed, a transmission gate-based 2:1 multiplexer has been used to build an effective MUX-based encoder that differs from the typical encoder. With gpdk_90 nm CMOS technology, the flash ADC is created and implemented in Cadence Virtuoso Tool. The suggested design is operated and performance is analyzed at 800 mV and 1.8 V of input frequency for 10 MHz and 33.2 MHz with reduced power consumption.
