Optimized Lateral Motion Control of Boeing 747 Using Particle Swarm Optimization

摘要

In this paper, a lateral motion control for the Boeing 747 is proposed based on particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based state feedback controller. A pole combination approach is proposed with the pole locations in the left half of the s-plane and these serve as the particle in PSO. This method ensures the stability without separate checking for each particle in each iteration, and the desired performance is achieved with reduced computation. This work is further extended for design of a full-order observer-based controller when states of the system are not available. The results depict achievement of the lateral motion control of the Boeing 747 aircraft. The results and the comparative study ensure suitability of the proposed method.
