Design and Comparison of Novel NEMS Meander Switch with NEMS Slot Switch to Improve the Return Loss Performance for Phased Array Applications

This research utilized HFSS software to discuss the design, modelling, and comparison of novel RF NEMS meander switch and NEMS slot switch, as well as their performance in terms of return loss for phased array applications. Materials and Methods: In this research paper, two distinct groups were established, each consisting of 28 participants, resulting in a combined total sample size of 56 individuals. The study was designed with a pre-test power of 80% Result: The simulation of the innovative NEMS meander switch outperforms the NEMS slot switch, yielding optimized results for enhanced return loss performance at an impressive level of −51.04 dB and insertion loss performance at a remarkably low −0.07 dB. It is noteworthy that the return loss performance achieves a high level of significance, with a p-value of 0.000, well below the conventional threshold of p < 0.05. Conclusion: The novel NEMS meander switch has better performance than NEMS slot switch.
