A Wearable Healthcare and Safety System for Industrial Workers with Emergency Communication Facility

Workers are the ones who are always much interested in doing their work to their best level, but they are facing many problems in the surroundings of industries. Keeping this in mind and visualizing the problems in industries, it is found that many people who face health issues or get injured are not given proper remedies. By identifying these problems, a smart jacket is being designed for securing them. This smart jacket prototype senses various health and safety-related problems like noise, vibration, atmospheric and human body temperature, gases like carbon monoxide, heartbeat rate, fall detection, and the exact location of the worker. An additional feature of this smart jacket is that it has a touch sensor that detects and notices the part of the body where injuries occur. It specifically has a great impact on women workers working in industries. All these parameters are being monitored, and in case of abnormal conditions, with the parameter detected, a notification is sent to the rescue team to reach the place for treating them. As far as the study has been done, there exists a problem with whether the person has undergone treatment or not. The proposed system will continuously send an alert message at a particular interval to the rescue team till the person is acknowledged for abnormalities. This provides a solution to monitor and control an individual’s safety, by detecting health and environmental parameters. This system has been tested for functional verification with an accuracy of 95.38%.
