Plants and Phytochemicals for Protection Against Chemotherapy-Induced and Drug-Induced Cardiotoxicity
摘要
Anthracycline antibiotics like doxorubicin are frequently used to treat breast cancer and other solid tumours. However, a number of hazards, particularly cardiotoxicity, limit its use. Several medicinal plants and multiple phytochemicals proved helpful in cardioprotection against Doxorubicin cardiotoxicity. This chapter gives details of phytoconstituents that have protective activity against chemotherapy-induced and drug-induced cardiotoxicity. These phytochemicals include allicin, catechin, chrysin, geniposide, resveratrol, and more.
