To achieve pre-sorting and release of coal blocks with a particle size above 50 mm underground in coal mines, effectively enhancing the capacity of main shaft release in coal mines, improving commercial coal production, significantly elevating mined coal quality, and replacing the existing manual selection processes both on the surface and underground to reduce labor intensity for workers, we have conducted a comprehensive analysis of TDS system parameters underground and compared various sorting systems available in the market. As a result, we have successfully achieved preliminary design for an intelligent sorting system at Tianchen Coal Mine in Shandong Energy. This accomplishment provides crucial technical support for realizing a new green mining model called “mining-selection-replenishment” in subsequent stages.
