摘要

Segmentation of 3D craniofacial volume involves the process of separating the different structures of the face and skull from each other in a three-dimensional space. Methods for 3D segmentation of craniofacial volume involve using imaging software to separate different structures in a three-dimensional space, which can be done manually or through automated algorithms. These methods can be used for visualization and analysis purposes in clinical management of craniofacial 3D scans. Segmentation of 3D craniofacial volume involves using imaging software to separate different structures such as the maxillofacial osseous structures, sinuses, airway, etc. for visualization and analysis purposes. Advancements in 3D segmentation techniques have focused on improving accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility through automation and integration with other imaging data. This chapter provides concise literature on segmentation techniques and its advancements which have made it easier for clinicians to diagnose and plan treatment using 3D craniofacial images.
