The chapter “The Importance of Traditional Resources in Ethnomedicine” focuses on the research and use of traditional plant, animal, and microbial resources in ethnomedicine in the context of modern drug discovery. Ethnomedicine refers to traditional medicine practiced by various cultures and communities, using natural resources of plants, animals, and microorganisms to treat various conditions and diseases. The chapter analyzes the importance of these traditional resources as potential sources of new drugs and the possibility of using modern scientific tools in the identification and study of biological activities of substances from ethnomedicine.
