China–Africa Collaboration in Agriculture and Food Security: Prospects and Challenges
摘要
This chapter explores the collaboration between China and Africa in the field of agriculture and food security. China and Africa have a long-standing partnership in various sectors, and agriculture and food security have emerged as key area of collaboration in recent years. Through various initiatives and programs, China and Africa have been working together to address the challenges of food insecurity in Africa, which is a significant impediment to the continent's economic growth and development. However, there are also challenges associated with the collaboration. One of the main challenges is ensuring that the collaboration is based on reciprocal benefit, respect, and understanding, and that it does not lead to the exploitation of African resources or undermine local agriculture systems. This chapter argues that while the collaboration between China and Africa in agriculture and food security presents significant opportunities for addressing food insecurity and promoting sustainable development in Africa, there are also challenges that need to be addressed to ensure that it contributes to sustainable development in the long run.
