Organic Synthesis Catalyzed by Supported Metal Single-Atom Catalysts

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) provide the ultimate value in metal usage efficiency: each isolated atom is an active site. Single-atom catalysts also possess unique catalytic activities that differ from those of their particle and cluster counterparts. This chapter mainly describes supported metal SACs and discusses several relevant topics ranging from their preparation, characterization to their catalytic applications for organic synthesis. Organic synthesis reactions involving oxidation, hydrogenation, addition, coupling, and hydroformylation reactions catalyzed by supported metal SACs are then summarized.
