摘要

Metal nanoparticles, which are particles with sizes in the range of 2–100 nm, have been widely applied as active catalysts in organic molecule transformation. In such systems, an appropriate support is required to prevent agglomeration of the fine metal nanoparticles. This chapter introduces the preparation, characterization, and application of supported metal nanoparticles in organic synthesis based on current research works and studies. Interactions between the support and metal nanoparticles are also discussed. The most significant applications of metal nanoparticles will be discussed in terms of the reaction types and essential metal elements. The structure-performance relationship in the view of metal-support interaction, size effect, formation of active metal centers will be analyzed according to the most typical research studies.
